Paradigm Dance Workshop's 2023 inaugural event is unlike anything that has ever come to Rochester, MN. Your dancer has the amazing opportunity to turn a "no school day" into an unforgettable and educational experience. This event will enable your dancer to train with elite industry professionals to improve technique and learn a ton of new moves.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

This workshop is perfect for dancers of all ages and abilities. Observers are also welcome to attend (for a fee). Please note, feel free to register your child (based on their dance experience) for the age group you feel is appropriate.

Observer passes are only available for purchase to adults that are accompanying a workshop dancer that is participating in the event.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

Your dancer will have a jam-packed day of amazing training at the 2023 Paradigm Dance Workshop. Classes will run all day from 8:00am-5:00pm for our Mini, Junior, Teen & Senior dancers. Registration and Check-In at the workshop will begin at 7:30am. Classes will start promptly at 8:00am.

All dancers need to come prepared with the following to the workshop:

  • Wear dance attire & bring all styles of dance shoes

  • Water Bottle to stay hydrated (water is also available for purchase)

  • Lunch - all dancers will need to bring their own lunch

Keri LaGrand

Keri is from Fountain Valley, CA and has been dancing since age 3. She has danced on the MTV Awards w/ Jennifer Lopez, the American Music Awards w/ Cher and Toni Braxton, was featured in the film “I’ll Do Anything”. She's appeared in commercials for 7-Up, Sonyand the MGM Grand Hotel. She was also featured in the “Celebrity Skin” video w/ Courtney Love and can be seen on Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud – Live from Puerto Rico” DVD.

 

Keri prides herself on influencing young minds and souls during her travels as a master teacher and choreographer all over the world. She is the creator of one of the most popular new Teacher’s classes, the “Strength & Stretch” class, for which she has just published her first syllabus. This class is designed to safely create more space and flexibility in a dancer's body while giving them the tools and strength to be able to use their technique for a more creative expression as an artist and mastery as a technician.

Autumn Miller

Autumn Miller is currently traveling & teaching on the faculty for the convention Titans Of Dances.

Some of Autumn’s credits include Dancing with the Stars, Disney’s Shake It Up, ABC’s Holidays with the Hough's, Disney’s Thanksgiving special with Sting, performing with Dove Cameron for the IHeart radio pride show, Willow Smith’s Whip my Hair video, Meghan Trainor’s “No Excuses” video, “Bad Liar” with the Imagine Dragons, as well as a Madilyn Bailey Music Video!

Autumn was on the Cover of the NOV/DEC 2020 Inside Dance Magazine and the Cover of Style Cruze magazine. She's appeared in numerous commercials including Razor Scooters, Hasbro, Walmart, McDonalds, Go GO Puppy & Just Dance Kids. She has also modeled for Katrina Activewear, J. Jill, Target, Hyundai, Pearl Yukiko, Guess, Smashbox, Justice, and has her own line 5 DANCEWEAR x Autumn!

Alice Chase

Alice Chase is a multi-hyphenate artist of over twenty years based out of Los Angeles, CA. She currently works in Film/TV and Live Production at Transition Productions and Instructs at Artistico School of Dance in Marina Del Rey. She is a Film & Theatre BFA alumna of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy (Hollywood, CA & Manhattan, NY.
 

Most of Alice’s work at Transition is focused on creative development, unscripted television, live sports production, targeted branding
strategy and 360 multi-platform content delivery. Most recently, Chase has worked on Jackass Shark Week 2.0, as well as with the World Food Program (Yemen),
The Ocean Cleanup Organization, and OmegaBall. Other projects and clients include ESPN, Discovery+, Nitro World Games, Dew Tour, PepsiCo, Rockstar Energy, and Formula Drift. Alice continues to learn enthusiastically under the direction of Kemp Curley and is excited to expand her knowledge of the entertainment industry while she grows as an aspiring  writer/producer/director.

Alice attended many national competitions & traveled with Dance America Company as a junior faculty member where she performed in cities all over the US and assisted workshops alongside world-renowned choreographers.

Derrick Schrader

Derrick Schrader began his dance training in Minnesota. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA where he is continuing his career in dance education, direction and visual arts.

 

Derrick is a touring faculty member of Tremaine Dance Conventions & the Assistant Director of the Tremaine Performance Company.

 

He has appeared on ABC Family's "Switched!", "The Gift" & the stage show for Disney's animated feature "Bolt." Other credits include: Tappin' in the Twin Cities with Gregory Hines & Savion Glover, Burnin' The Floor & Blur featuring Carmen Electra, Seamless Dance Company, Out On A Limb Ballet Company, In*Formation and Keep It Jumpin'. Focusing on musicality and intent, Derrick's work has been performed by artists, companies & dancers around the globe appearing on ESPN, LOGO, MTV, Disney Channel, Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” & Rupauls Drag Race. He's worked alongside Paula Abdul, Carmen Electra, Todrick Hall, Lindsay Lohan, Neon Trees, Kenny Ortega & Steven Spielberg. Derrick’s choreography has received top honors at the Industry Dance Awards. Including 12 nominations for “Best Jazz” and receiving the “Favorite Convention Teacher Of The Year” award in 2014.

Kathy Chase

Kathy Chase has been teaching students of all different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels for more than 36 years. She has trained & competed in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, acrobatics, and baton twirling.

 

Kathy became a professional ballet dancer and a founding member of Riet Velthuisen’s Continental Ballet Company. After moving to Rochester she taught at Allegro School of Dance, The Rochester Ballet School & Kasson Ballet School. Eventually Allegro and The RBS merged, and she became a full-time faculty member. Over her thirty-year run with ASDM, Kathy has been a devoted dance educator teaching ballet, tap, and jazz at all levels, as well as choreographing and running annual holiday shows, recitals, and overseeing the performance
competition company.

 

Currently, she is the acting choreographer for Immersion Youth Repertory Summer Programs here in Rochester, MN, and a newly
welcomed full-time instructor at Rochester’s Bliss Dance Space. Kathy is enthusiastic and passionate about continuing on her legacy of keeping dance expressive and fun.

Gerran Reese

Gerran has been teaching dance throughout the world for the past fifteen years. He is trained in all styles of dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop, and African.

 

He's currently a faculty member at The Movement Lifestyle , TMilly StudioThe Brea SpaceMonsters of Hip Hop Convention (A list), The American Musical & Dramatic Academy (BFA Program for Performing Arts,) & The Nexxt Move Dance Convention. He's taught internationally at LAX (Paris, France) Studio 68 (London,) SDA Camp (Poland) Base Studios (London) & Brent Street (Sydney).

 

Gerran's worked with artists such as Beyonce, Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland, T-Boz, Carmit, Daniel Bedingfield, Estelle, Muse, Amei, Rochelle Jordan, Kona Rose, Two-feet and many more. He's also worked with top choreographers such as Kevin Maher, Brian Friedman, Tessandra Chavez, Travis Payne, Tabitha & Napoleon, Derrell Bullock, Hi-Hat, Andye J, Tony Testa & many more.

 

Credits include: Disney’s - Black is King, Monsters of Hip Hop Show Cast 2014, The Jefferson Dancers, & NBA Blazer Hip-Hop Squad. He's done commerical campaigns for Reebok, Puma & Nike. He's danced on the X-Factor, America’s Got Talent, The View, Dancing With the Stars, TV-Land Awards, Emmy Gala & The Grammy’s.

Ricci Milan

Ricci Milan attended Larkin Dance Studio in the Twin Cities for 12 years. While in New York City he performed tap & hip-hop dance for the NBA, PBS, Compaq, choreographer showcases, bat mitzvahs, NCAA final four and he worked with award-winning recording artist “Mya”. Ricci also taught competition kids in New Jersey & helped create the original cast of “Break the Floor”. In L.A. he performed with “10 foot 5”.

 

After a year at a family theater in Myrtle Beach (Gaylord Productions) and a year in Tokyo (Tokyo Disney Sea) he moved home to Minneapolis. He rejoined with “10 foot 5” to recharge and rebrand with the 2004 debut of the internationally acclaimed “Buckets and Tap Shoes”. In 2008 he turned his focus to the creation of a passion project named, Rhythmic Circus. The company’s show was called “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now!” In that same year, he started a career as a dance competition choreographer & began hosting events for the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge. In his tenure with Rhythmic Circus, “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” he completed 8 national tours, 4 international tours & performed a successful run on Broadway at the New Victory Theater in Time's Square. Ricci also broke ground on a new company named “Rhythm Street Movement”. Ricci’s competition pieces consistently place in the top 10 all over the country. Hall of Fame has grown to be one of the largest and most well-respected competitions in the industry.

Shannon Raines

Shannon Butterfield Raines began training at the renowned Butterfield Gallerie of Dance in Maple Grove, MN. After graduating, she continued her training at the MN Dance Theater, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps, NY. She's studied under Bonnie Mathis, Finis Jhung, Gus Giordano Andrew Riss, and many other renowned choreographers & instructors. Shannon has 30 years of experience in teaching & choreography, including developing the classical ballet program at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance. She's won numerous awards for her choreography. In addition, her work has won awards on both regional & national platforms.

 

Many of Shannon’s students have gone on to professional teaching & performance careers and have appeared with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Cirque du Soleil, Disney, & Euro Disney. Her students have also been accepted into training programs with Joffrey Ballet School, The Harid Conservatory, School of American Ballet, The Juilliard School, The Russian Ballet Academy of Maryland, MN Dance Theater, Oklahoma City University, Point Park University, Loyola Marymount, Master Ballet Academy,  University of MN and University of IA. Shannon approaches students with the philosophy that all dancers have potential regardless of their level of experience. She strives to bring out the best in each dancer in a supportive and nurturing way.
